Federico Pontarollo works with photography and analogue printing. He has lived in Bassano, Bolzano, Berlin, and Amsterdam, where he recently completed a master's degree in cultural anthropology with research on the role of ecovillages in revitalising rural areas in Italy and land stewardship. His ethnographic approach, combined with slow photography, enables him to establish a deep connection with the subjects and places he works with, creating visual documentation that explores themes such as loneliness and urban alienation, sustainability, and community lifestyles.
Federico Pontarollo, originally from Bassano del Grappa, studies Cultural and Communication Sciences at the Free University of Bolzano. After volunteering in a small village in Brandenburg, where he engaged with permaculture and synergistic agriculture, he moved to Berlin to focus on photography and analogue printing.
I am available to print photographs (black and white or colour) and offer one-to-one workshops on the analogue printing process in the darkroom.
