The man and the landscape | ongoing project | analog photography | 2021 -
As I moved to the city, I discovered true, loud loneliness. I saw and experienced it around me as never before. I taught myself solitude, how to be alone and how to deal with myself and my limits. I choose to live far from my family and friends. This state of being has been present, since then, in my photography. I started noticing lonely subjects contrasting with the massiveness of the city. I dived into the crowd, feeling invisible but guided by its unpredictability. I learned about this dichotomy of the city, attractiveness and repulsion, being welcome and feeling rejected, tension and release. It’s here, where everybody is surrounded by an excess of people, stimuli and opportunities, that you discover yourself truly alone.
